Andrija Kojaković
Director of the Board – Bankers Petroleum Albania

Andrija Kojaković joined Bankers in June 2025. He is an experienced executive in the energy sector with a distinguished background in corporate leadership, diplomacy, and international finance. He previously served as CEO of INA d.d., where he led major restructuring initiatives and secured INA’s first international loan without state guarantee. He also held diplomatic roles as Croatia’s Ambassador to China , also overseeing relations with Thailand, the Philippines, and Mongolia, and later as Ambassador to the United Kingdom and non- resident Ambassador to Ireland and Ghana. He held a position on the Board of Directors of the EBRD, advising on economic strategies across Central and Eastern Europe. Mr. Kojaković later founded and led the Central European Oil Company, backed by Barclays Bank and the EBRD. He holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of Zagreb and brings a strategic, pragmatic approach to advancing energy development.

                                               

Hongping Xiao
CEO

Mr. Hongping Xiao is appointed CEO of Bankers Petroleum Albania, starting from 1 October 2024. Mr. Xiao, who is a Senior Engineer of Petroleum Exploration and Development, holds a Bachelor Degree of Exploration Technology and Engineering from Northeast Petroleum University. He has 20 years of working experience from seismic exploration, microseismic monitoring of fracturing, geological and reservoir study, oil exploitation, production engineering, oilfield operation, and oily waste treatment. Mr. Xiao has served as project manager in Liaohe Oilfield of PetroChina, project manager in Schlumberger, chief engineer in Maten Petroleum of Geo-Jade. Since he joined Bankers in 2018, he has served as Deputy Manager of Geology and Development, Manager of Production Engineer, manager of HSE, Director of Production and Operation, Deputy General Manager.

Desheng Ma
Executive Deputy General Director

Mr. Desheng Ma is appointed Executive Deputy General Director of Bankers Petroleum Albania, effective 1 March 2023. He is responsible for overseeing the Reservoir Engineering, Geology Development, and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) departments. Mr. Ma is a Professor of Engineering and a doctoral tutor, holding a Doctorate in Oil and Gas Field Development from Wuhan Geology University. He brings over 37 years of experience in oil and gas scientific research and field development, having served in leadership positions at PetroChina’s Liaohe Oilfield and its Research Institute of Exploration and Development. He previously held key roles such as Executive Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of EOR, Senior Technical Expert in Oil and Gas Field Development for CNPC, and Chief Technical Expert of EOR at CNPC’s Research Institute. Mr. Ma’s appointment reinforces Bankers’ commitment to technical excellence and innovation in hydrocarbon development.

Lianyi Wang
CFO

Mr. Lianyi Wang is appointed CFO of Bankers, effective 11th March,2024. Mr. Wang holds a Master of Accounting from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and a Bachelor of Accounting from Hohai University in China. He has 19 years (including 14 years outside of China) of working experience in companies such as Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation, China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Corporation, Tunghsu Group and GeoJade Petroleum Corporation in China, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and Kazakhstan. His areas of expertise include finance, investment, tax optimization, project acquisition, internal audit etc. in the energy sector with the understanding of international accounting standards.

Zhang Fuguo
DGD, HR & Administration Manager

Mr. Fuguo has joined Bankers Petroleum Albania Ltd. on January 28, 2022 in capacity of HR & Administration Manager. He was promoted as Deputy General Director in July 1st, 2022. He has over 15 years (including 10 years outside of China) of working experience on top-level recruitment and consulting projects in many different industries. Before joining Bankers, Mr. Fuguo worked with multinational companies such as: Sinohydro Bureau in Ethiopia, Qatar and China, AVIC International RealEstate in Tanzania, Guangzhou Senda Group in East Africa, Country Garden Property in Indonesia and Shijiazhuang Yiling Phamarceutical Co. Ltd in China. He has proven success in managing and promoting business development by adapting international strategies and achieving a favorable situation for all parties. Mr. Zhang is a certified HR Manager and is graduated from Hebei Normal University in China for English language.

Lijun Zhao
Deputy General Director

Mr. Zhao joined Bankers Petroleum Albania Ltd. on May 01, 2019 in the capacity of Thermal Department. Mr. Zhao holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Northeast Petroleum University, China. He has 20 years (including 12 years work experience abroad) of working experience in Sinopec ,Sinopec Shengli oilfield, Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation in China, Syria, Columbia and Gabon. His areas of expertise include well completion, artificial lifting, thermal production, Well stimulation etc...

Chris Thompson
DGD, Production and Operations

Mr.Thompson joined Bankers Petroleum Albania in June 2011 and he has held different management positions within the company. He is a very-well experienced heavy & light oil engineer and has a very deep expertise on the oil industry and technology. Through his professional skills Mr.Thompson has helped the company grow and improve methods in oil production. Before joining Bankers he worked as e production Engineer at Nexen company. He holds a degree in industrial Systems Engineering from the University of Regina.
