For twenty-one years, Bankers Petroleum Albania (BPAL) has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Albania in powering its energy future. Since 2004, our operations have delivered tangible value: invested $4.5 billion in Albania’s economy, secured 83% of national crude oil production, and supported more than 1,500 local families through quality employment. We take quiet pride in contributing $730 million in royalty taxes (68.9% of Albania’s total) to national energy section development, $40 million protecting Albania’s environment and $10 million strengthening communities – a legacy we hold sacred. Meanwhile, the company still has unrefunded VAT (Value Added Tax) refunds totaling over $36 million USD at the tax authority.

Since after the acquisition from previous shareholders in 2016, our renewed management team has embedded integrity deeply into BPAL’s operations. We showcased our commitment to the partnership by more transparent procurement, more rigorous compliance, and significant reduction in disputes.

In response of the recent regulatory investigations, BPAL and our parent company BPL are committed to engage in full cooperation with Albanian authorities. We are in process of appointing a senior representative to ensure thorough collaboration and operational transparency. We respect and support all lawful measures to uphold Albania’s regulatory and integrity standards. As of now, our overall business operations remain stable, our core team is intact, and our daily operations continue without major disruption.
